Established as a leading provider of cash handling equipment, we enable customers to automate cash payments throughout the world. We manufacture multi-coin hoppers, banknote validators and recyclers that handle millions of transactions every day for some of the world's leading companies.

Our desire to continually innovate led to our AI-powered age and identity verification division. Using facial analysis to identify people more efficiently and securely, our solutions let customers add age estimation and facial recognition to their existing equipment or premises.

From Oldham to the world
Innovative Technology was founded in Oldham in 1992 by David Bellis MBE. Our history began with an aim to design and manufacture cost-effective banknote validation equipment. Over three decades we have expanded our range significantly, always with a modular approach that lets customers easily customise their products and add functionality.
1992
Founded in Oldham by David Bellis MBE to design and manufacture cost-effective banknote validation equipment.
1994
Our first product, the NV1, launches and the iconic Smiley bezel is born. Expansion into Europe follows.
2004
SPF™ technology gives an industry-leading acceptance rate of typically 99%+ for multi-currency banknotes. We also create SSP, the Smiley Secure Protocol.
2010
The NV11, our first compact note recycler, joins a growing range including the NV200 and NV9. The SMART coin range follows.
2017
Spectral Technology arrives with the NV200 Spectral: full spectral imaging that protects against fraudulent and stained notes.
2020
Our AI-powered age and identity verification division launches. It is now home to MyCheckr, MyCheckr Mini and ICU Lite.
2022
The NV4000, the latest multi-bill recycler in the Spectral range, built for fast cash processing in retail.
